To change the Shareline icons in an article, you need to set up Share Buttons and use them on the Share Profile, which is then set on the Channel. Additionally, you need to have authentication profiles (i.e. for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc ) set up for the Zone. 

The social bookmarking or Sharelines code checks for these authentication profiles on the current Zone. Without these authentication profiles, the Shareline icons may not display correctly.

If you are not seeing the Shareline icons on the display side, it could be due to the absence of these authentication profiles. Ensure that the pertinent authentication profiles are configured to enable the Shareline functionality.
