Introducing Affino's Six AI Engines

Affino's six AI Engines: AI Chat, AI Copilot, AI Analyst, AI Agents, AI Mass Content and Support AI.

Affino ushers in the Evolved Web with six new AI engines.

Managing and interacting with news and information will have completely evolved in as little as two years.

We introduced Affino’s six AI engines at this year’s Affino Innovation Briefing: Affino AI Chat, Affino AI Copilot, Affino AI Analyst, Affino AI Agents, Affino AI Mass Content and Affino Support AI.

 

Five of these have been under development for some time, and we have launched multiple generations of Affino’s AI Chat and Support AI services in 2024 as part of our Affino AI Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 rollouts.

 

Gen 4 Affino AI, which is the upcoming generation of Affino’s AI services, adds the v1 versions of Affino AI Copilot, AI Agents, and Affino AI Mass Content. Affino’s AI Analyst will be launched in 2025 as part of Gen 5 Affino AI which will also include major evolutions of each of the other AI services.

Individually each of these services is transformational, but taken together they usher in the new era of the Evolved Web, where AI increasingly is a part of every sales, marketing, production, engagement and audience interaction.

The highlights of which are below for each of the AI engines, as well as an outline of the key service updates for each generation.

 

Things are moving rapidly in the world of AI, so note that while Gen 4 Affino AI is already firmed up and much of it already in QA for the upcoming major December service update, Affino’s Gen 5 service update might vary considerably depending on what new innovations spring up in the broader AI ecosystem.

 

We are already working with clients on dozens of AI service implementations, and are constantly reviewing and adapting the latest AI approaches, LLMs (Large Language Models) and toolkits, often releasing Affino service updates within a week of a major new LLM becoming available.

 

Here are the highlights for each of Affino’s AI services over the coming months.

Affino AI Chat

The Affino AI Chat is an interactive AI chat interface much like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. It is trained up on your content to create a powerful interactive chat service.

 

Affino's AI Chat has already gone through multiple iterations and is now being used to power a host of AI services for clients including:

We will continue to update the AI Chat service rapidly, evolving from a highly text based one to one with voice commands, audio, images, video, PDFs and indeed whole articles and adverts over the coming year.

 

Gen 3 Affino AI Chat (Q3 2024)

  • Reliable, accurate, automated, flexible AI Chat with solid reporting and analytics. Seamlessly slots into existing content workflows.

 

Gen 4 Affino AI Chat (Q4 2024 / Q1 2025)

  • Faster, smarter, with multiple LLM options including OpenAI, Claude and Mistral. Integrated with Search DE, Forums and Articles. Smarter AI searches with reranking.
  • Integrated with Search DE (replace site search), Ask AI button on Forum, Conversion Event triggers for v1 AI Automation, enhanced alerts, more content options, Guest AI

 

Gen 5 Affino AI Chat (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • Audio chat with Evolved Web Interface, 3rd Party Plugin

Affino AI Copilot

Affino's AI Copilot is the editorial AI assistant which supports your content, marketing, events, and sales teams with creating the best and most engaging content for your audiences.

 

With Affino's AI Copilot we are not simply looking to replicate what can be done with writing content, something which you can use ChatGPT with Canvas to achieve today, and indeed soon will be baked into every operating system.

 

We are looking to make Affino's AI Copilot a transformational service which incorporates these great elements and goes beyond. The first version of the Copilot is focused on generating at a click up to five questions for each article, and for creating images wherever previously you would need to upload one.

 

We will leap forward with the Gen 5 version, where we are looking to leverage the great tech inbound from all the major OS's and browsers, and adding extra dimensions including generating article summaries, SEO and potentially GEO optimisation, creating audio versions, and more.

 

Gen 4 Affino AI Copilot (Q4 2024 / Q1 2025)

  • v1 Copilot featuring image and article question generation

 

Gen 5 Affino AI Copilot (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • Evolved Copilot with many more content creation and transformation tools - candidate tools include writing assistant, audio generation, translation & more.

Affino AI Agents

Affino AI Agents is Affino's upcoming AI automation platform, architected to become increasingly autonomous with each generation. Using the AI Agents alongside the AI Chat and Affino's Conversion Events will drive advanced AI supported customer and team workflows.


V1 is coming in Affino AI Gen 4, and in some ways is more an AI Automation platform than a full Agentic AI one, with automations triggered from conversations with Affino's AI Chat.

 

What makes this powerful is that the automations leverage Affino's Conversion Events and Customer Ladder for extensive messaging, task creation and fulfilment process automation.

 

Once the initial AI Automation framework is in place, we will iterate the automations so that AIs can be brought into the decision making, task and message content creation, and even sales and marketing processes.

 

Gen 4 Affino AI Agents (Q4 2024 / Q1 2025)

  • v1 more AI Automation than AI Agents, but is the starting point. Trigger Conversion Events based on Chat Conversations (both questions and answers provided).

 

Gen 5 Affino AI Agents (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • Extend AI Chat and AI Automation to enable AI based analysis and decision making on actions.

Affino Mass Content AI

Affino's Mass Content AI is for mass content creation and transformation, essentially allowing you to transform (and in the future to create) your content with simple commands, settings, and AI prompts.

 

The first version is coming in Affino's Gen 4 AI services. We see this as being one of the most powerful Affino AI engines. Initially the focus will be on creating Article Questions en mass for any number of articles. So if for example you have 100,000 articles then Affino can be set to generate 500,000 questions, 5 for each article at the push of a button.

 

In the future we will evolve this engine to be incredibly capable, from creating audio versions and translations of articles, to transforming content in bulk, and even creating content in bulk. So a prompt to create 10 article on a subject in a particular section, or even to create the section itself, will lead to the content being originated from scratch.

 

Ultimately we envisage this engine being able to create whole parts of your websites with simple, and increasingly powerful prompts.

 

Gen 4 Affino Mass Content AI (Q4 2024 / Q1 2025)

  • Automate the creation of Article Questions for Any Article, 100,000’s at a time.

 

Gen 5 Affino Mass Content AI (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • Extend the engine to facilitate bulk content creation and transformation, including changing content tone, translations, audio generation and more.

Affino AI Analyst

Affino's AI Analyst is the only one of Affino's services still on the drawing board. With all the other AI services development is already underway, live, or undergoing final pre-launch testing.

 

The AI Analyst platform is intended for deep data dives and analysis automation and is coming in Gen 5 of Affino's AI services.

 

Our ambitions are no less here than with the other AI engines. Our testing shows that in particular OpenAI's o1 service has a powerful toolkit for us to adopt with the creation of a powerful analytics platform which will not only be used for one off analysis but can be set up to create regular advanced reports on the fly from any Affino data export, Excel spreadsheets, or indeed by simply pasting in data with the appropriate prompt.

 

Right from the outset we will be looking to incorporate AI code generation and execution into the engine, however the need for adequate safeguards could make that aspect something we push into the future.

 

The true power of Affino's AI Analyst will be the ability to generate advanced reports and charts quickly and easily without being a data analyst or programmer. This analysis can then be made available via Client Campaigns to anyone quickly and easily.

 

Gen 5 Affino AI Analyst (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • v1 AI Analyst - create your AI Analysis Space, add in text, import spreadsheets and analyse.
  • Use multiple LLMs to chain together analysis steps for analysis automation.
  • Any Affino export can be directly exported into an AI Analyst Space
  • Make analysis available through Client Campaigns.

Affino's Support AI

The Affino AI Support Assistant is different from our other AI services. The Support Assistant is purely focused on helping users get the most out of Affino and answering all Affino questions quickly, accurately, and to the depth required.

 

We have been somewhat blown away by the Support AI, which is already answering around 90% of Affino support questions put to it. This is a full year ahead of when we had anticipated. A lot of this is down to Affino's AI training, reporting and notification workflow toolkit which highlights any time Affino can't answer a question or where the answer is unsatisfactory to the end user.

 

There has also been great work done by the Affino support team in creating hundreds of help guides and FAQs with which to train the Support AI.


We have big plans for the Affino Support AI, and right now the biggest challenge is for us to change user behaviour so that users are much more likely to use it than go to the support forum and help guides they have been used to relying on until now.

 

To that end we are extending the reach of the Support AI so that in the upcoming Gen 4 version users have an Ask AI button right on the forum, the site search leverages the AI, and we bring the AI directly into the help guides with relevant questions generated for each guide.

 

We will also be baking the Support AI directly into the Affino Control Centre so it is never more than a click away wherever the user is.

 

Gen 3 Affino Support AI (Q3 2024)

  • Fast interactive support, answering 90% of questions accurately in seconds.

 

Gen 4 Affino Support AI (Q4 2024 / Q1 2025)

  • Integrated with Search DE (replace site search), Ask AI button on Support Forums, native AI Support in Control Centre, plus all the benefits of the AI Chat evolution

 

Gen 5 Affino Support AI (Q2 / Q3 2025)

  • Personalised Text and Audio based Affino AI Support Assistant with an awareness of the Screen the question is being asked on

 

Gen 6 (TBC)

  • No longer just provides advice, but will be able to start performing actions in Affino
