T89207 > How does the Banner Type option work for Creatives?
07 Aug 2024 17:14

The Banner Type option allows for more precise targeting and placement of banner ads, ensuring that the correct sizes and types of ads are displayed in the appropriate Campaign Placement Areas of your site.

The real benefit is that you can now place a full set of banner sizes into a single campaign and let the Campaign Theme filter out the correct ones into the Campaign Placement slot instead of having to create a different Ad Campaign for each size.

When adding or editing a Creative, users can select a Banner Type from the dropdown field located below the Alt Text field. This field is only available for banner ads, not other creative/ad types such as Meerkat.

The Banner Type options include standard banner sizes, such as:

  • Banner (468x60)

  • Billboard (970×250)

  • Half Banner (234x60)

  • Half Page (300x600)

  • Large Leaderboard (970x90)

  • Large Rectangle (336x280)

  • Leaderboard (728x90)

  • Medium Rectangle (300x250)

  • Mobile Banner (300x50)

  • Mobile Leaderboard (320×50)

  • Mobile Large Banner (320x100)

  • Skyscraper (120x600)

  • Small Square (200x200)

  • Square (250x250)

  • Vertical Banner (120x240)

  • Wide Skyscraper (160x600)

* For non-standard sizes, choose one of the Custom options.

When setting up an Ad Campaign Theme, you can select which Banner Types are allowed for each Placement Item. This determines which types of banners can be displayed in specific Campaign Placement Areas (CPAs).

Affino checks the Banner Types specified on the Ad Campaign Theme and filters out creatives that don't match. This ensures that only the correct banner sizes are delivered to each CPA.

The Banner Type information is also available when selecting a Creative for an Ad Campaign. Users can filter creatives by Banner Type, making it easier to select appropriate creatives for each campaign.

On the Creatives listing, a Banner Type column has been added to display this information for easy reference.

Note: the system adds metadata (File Name, File Size, and Dimensions) to the banner image upon upload, similar to how it's done for Articles.
