When a guest user arrives at your site, Affino updates the cookie tracking to ensure the guest users are not being tracked immediately by third party trackers, e.g. Google Analytics, until the user agrees (only with Strictly Necessary Cookies).
This is to ensure that the tracking is done in a GDPR compliant manner.
Strictly Necessary Cookies are necessary for users to access features, secure areas of the website, for fraud and security audits, and shopping.
- These cookies do not gather any information about users that could be used for marketing, or remembering where they've been on the internet.
Affino enables third party cookies once the user has agreed to the cookie policy either from the cookie bar at the bottom of the page, or from the cookie preferences panel which you can set to automatically open when a user first lands on the site.
Please note: If you notice a difference in views on Google Analytics and Affino, this is due to cookie approval, given that Google Analytics is not part of the necessary cookies.
- If guest users do not accept the cookies, then Affino cannot send that information to Google Analytics (as part of GDPR).
For user acceptance, you can choose whether to display by default, either the Cookie Setting popup:
or the Consent Bar:
This is done via the Cookie Policy Profile:
Control > Settings > Cookie Policies > (Add / Edit) > Cookie Policy Profile
Using the Default Cookie Policy Display option, choose one as the default:
