Campaigns - Fireplace Takeover Set Up

This guide will show you how to setup a Fireplace or Background creative, togethwe with a Matching Banner.

In summary, you will need to:

  • Set up the Background and Matching Banner creatives
  • Set up an Ad Campaign for each creative
  • Include the Matching Banner under the Background Ad Campaign
  • Assign the Background Ad Campaign to CPA1
  • Assign the Matching Banner Ad Campaign to CPA2
  • Make sure those CPA’s (Campaign Placement Areas) are assigned to the Design Object associated to the channel’s Skin

Set up the Creative

Promote > Creatives > Creative Edit > Select Creative Format > Background

In order to have a Background or Fireplace ad you will need to set the image up as a Creative of type Background.

1.- Go to the Creatives screen

2.- Click on Add

3.- On the Select Creative Format dropdown choose Background

4.- Fill in the requiered fields

Channel and Campaign

1. Ensure the channel (where you would like the Background creative to be shown) has a Campaign Theme applied

2. Assing the Background creative to Campaign Placement Are 1 on the related Campaign Theme. The background creative must be assigned to Campaign Placement Area 1.

3. Assign a Banner creative to Campaign Placement Area 2.

4. The Design Object related to the channel needs to have two 'Campaign Placement DE's', with both Campaign Placement Areas selected so these creatives can be displayed.

Place these cells at the top of the design object above any other cells, as per the image attached.

Design

The design needs to be configured like so:

1. Define the overall background width required, in the example i've used 2000px

You can apply a larger size if you want a seemless fit on larger screens i.e 2800px.

2. Define the content/background widths, i recommend 75%/25%

Image

1. Then save the entire image for the background creative

2. try and save this as a .jpg and 'high' quality, as this will reduce the size of the image and load time, due it being a large image

3. Then add this image as the 'background' creative to Campaign Placement Area 1

Banner

1. Then crop and save the banner image for the banner creative

2. Then add this image as the 'banner' creative to Campaign Placement Area 2

Design Object

1. In the 'Design Object' you then need to ensure that the settings on every row match the width of the content/banner in the design

2. In this instance its 75%, so apply width: 75%; to the outer row of each element

3. You also need to add 'margin: 0 auto;' too

See below:

Design Script

Finally ensure there is 'Design Script' named 'Background Design Script' is applied to the skin.

If this is applied, when there is no background creative detected it will ensure the row width is 100%, and not 75%.
