Introduction:
With the My Library service, users can now bookmark articles, video and audio such as podcast episodes to their personal My Library.
These can then be watched and listened to, directly within the My Library, and it is easy for users to reference the articles for future reading.
We have added the bookmark functionality to our core templates and design elements.
The bookmarking action is simple and instant with one click to bookmark and one to remove.
Overview:
The My Library screen is listed under My Account for users to review their bookmarked articles, video and audio. Users will be able to save content from their respective listing and detail pages.
The purpose of the My Library Profile is for clients to configure what to offer to users and be able to change text items.
In order for the content to be grouped and displayed, you will need to create a new channel of type My Library.
This channel will be reflecting the configuration based on the My Library Profile for users to see their bookmark items such as articles, videos and audios.
Create the channel by filling in the required fields:
Note:
This page will display the users bookmarked items such as articles, videos and audios.
It will be controlled by the My Library profile, where you have defined which tabs to display and also change the language for the items (i.e. Podcasts instead of Audio).
Note: The My Library tab is shown on the My Account screen, if there is a My Library channel in the Zone.
When you enable the Generate Tabs on the My Library Profile the My Library screen will create additional tabs for Events, Directories and Products.
Any Events, Directories and Products that have been bookmarked will have their respective tab.
The Events, Directory Entries and Products tab will be visible if users have at least one content type bookmarked.
In order to have the bookmark icon present on articles, you must enable this on the channel:
Under the Standard & Media Items (Detail) panel, enable the option:
