Article Archive Guide

Control > Settings > Article Archive Profiles > (Add/Edit)

In order for articles and/or media items to be automatically archived, an Article Archive Profile needs to be set up.

Note: if the "Enable Article Archive" setting is ticked then the Archive functionality will be activated.

Fields:

• Name: give this profile a name
• Description: add a description
• Channels: select the channels that this Profile will be applied to (note that only Standard channels can be selected)
• Use Creation Date For Archiving: select to use the items Creation Date rather than Publish Start Date
• Enable Article Archive: Check the box to enable article archiving
• Archive Action: select the Archive Action (Archive / Delete Content or Move Content)
• Archive Section: select an Archive Section if you wish to move the content to an on-site, publicly available archive section. This is different from the full Archiving which takes the content offline.
• Auto Archive Content Days: enter the number of days before your content is auto-archived (if you leave this blank or zero your content will not be auto archived)
• Enable Deletion: select to delete content after a specified timeframe
• Auto Delete Content Days: enter the number of days before your content is auto-deleted (if you leave this blank or zero your content will not be auto deleted)

Please be aware that setting the "Auto Archive Content Days" option to 0 does not stop archiving.

The "Auto Archive Content Days" option archives article before the Publish End date.

Example: if an articles' Publish Start date is 29-02-2024 and its Publish End date is 28-02-2025, and if "Auto Archive Content Days" is set to 30, then the article will be archived on 30-03-2024, which is before the Publish End date.
