Affino 6.0.3 Release

This is another minor point release to follow up on the Affino 6.0 release. There are a number of new features in this release as well as significant bug fixes. This is very much a maintenance release which aims to smooth out the Affino 6 experience.

 

Upgrade Guidance

 

It is recommended that all Affino 6 users update to this release.

 

We’re not expecting any major issues with this release, but the scale of this release means that issues may arise. We recommend that eCommerce sites wait one to two weeks before updating and check on Comrz.com for any guidance.

 

It is recommended that you run through the complete update process starting with the Affino Updater, followed by the System Update, Re-Initialise Site, Design Element Update and Skin Update.

 

Enhancements

 

Badge Highlights DE – new display options allow for better presentation

 

Blogs – Tags and Tag Clouds can now be displayed on Blogs; the Tag Clouds are displayed as part of the Blog Archive DE and are an option; the individual blog posts display the tags assigned to them; the Blog Archive is now always displayed, even at the top level

 

Comments and Ratings – greatly improved usability of Comments and Ratings so that they now work seamlessly throughout all content element;

 

Customer Ladder Analysis – new pop-up charts highlight the activity during the timeframe for each user and badge type; updated timeframes so that new 7 day, 30 day and 12 month timeframes can be viewed; fixed graphs to show more accurate data; improved the usability of the real-time activity tracker

 

Dashboard – updated Dashboard with three new Customer Ladder widgets: Customer Ladder, Customer Ladder Badges, Customer Ladder Members, still in Beta but you can experiment with the widgets

 

Dynamic Forms – added back button to the Form Entry screen, makes it easier to page through different form entries

 

Facebook Integration – completely reworked all the connections with Facebook; updated to work with OAuth 2.0 and the new Graph API

 

Forums – improved formatting of Text buttons in the forum using the latest Form Styles

 

Gravatar – we now Integrage with Gravatar, this means that whenever a new member registers on the site Affino will go off and see if they have a Gravatar avatar; if they do, then Affino will fetch and upload the avatar for them; we’ve also updated the profile edit screen to all the users to change their icon for their Gravatar Icons.

 

Media Library – documents can now have external links, essential for very large media files such as Flash or .iso images; extened the licence generation to work with external files; added CSV file support to the media library, this will allow Affino users to upload csv files to the forums when posting support requests

 

Member Search – now allows searches for full names

 

Newsletters – improved formatting on the Newsletter sign-up screen

 

Public Profile – added Forum Highlights to members’ profiles, need to be enabled to be visible

 

Sections – now have Publishing Timeframes, this means that whole sections of content can be set to go public at a given point in time; they can also be set to go offline at a future time

 

SEO – it is now possible to set a specific SEO Page Description for each article and media item

 

Sort Order – new drag-and-drop sort ordering can now be done on Channels, Sections, Standard and Media Items as well as Step-by-step Articles; this is an easy to use ordering system which allows you in one go to re-order all the content within a section; a massive ease of use improvement

 

Tag Cloud DE – new Tag Cloud Design Element which displays the key tags for content from any Standard Channel or Section and then allows the user to click through and view a filtered view specifically of content tagged by the selected key word

 

TinyMCE – latest version included in Affino; improved performance and Chrome compatibility

Badges Highlights DE – fixed numerous display issues

 

Blogs – now reliably display the number of comments in the blog listings

 

Comments and Ratings – fixed an issue with the Spam Profile which was preventing comments from being posted

 

Conversion Events – fixed My Messages tracking

 

Coupons – can now be deleted reliably

 

Customer Ladder DE – no longer errors out; improved internationalisation

 

Embedded Links – improved formatting

 

eTests – fixed issue causing the test listing to break

 

Load Balancing – improved load balancing of scheduled tasks

 

Media Editor – numerous fixes to the Media Editor make this an essential upgrade if you’re a heavy Media Editor user; fixed all known issues

 

Media Library – updated so that document download links now reliably use the content delivery network where it’s been set up; improved performance when displaying videos, also removed issues which was causing videos to break; no longer deleting active image files

 

Media Uploader – now displays simple message when embedded files fail to upload

 

Order Lists –resolved all know issues with preparing invoices and order despatch notices

 

Recommendations DE – numerous improvements to list better recommendations

 

Skins – Skin Generation now working again on individual Skins on the Control side

 

Standard Articles – can now be copied reliably

 

Webservice API –added in new checks to ensure that the webservices are running reliably
