It’s always a great joy for us at Affino to be able to deliver to a new brief without a line of new code needing to be written. The task here was to create a dynamic structure for Heritage Digital to showcase its new Academy Training Materials - where it is split into Cohort Categories - each which houses a number of Training Modules and essential Resources / Collateral.
Prospective Trainees need to register to attend Cohorts / Modules, and be granted access by site admins.
The top level Cohorts are the overall Training Categories / Disciplines - where they are actually just standard Article Channels with select Topics applied. Currently there are 2 active Cohorts - Making a plan for digital, and Designing digital services. Each one of those has a unique Topic applied per name typically, alongside 3 further designations - either Live, Past, or Upcoming - which allows you to filter and arrange said content accordingly.
Each Cohort contains a series of Training Modules - which are actually individual Event Items. They are each assigned the appropriate Cohort Topic, as well as either Live, Past or Upcoming designations. The pertinent Collateral and Resources are listed alongside the relevant Modules - as pictured.
Each Module is simply a core Affino Event Item - which most should be familiar with by now - which lists out the pertinent Module Details - including Speakers / Trainers.
The pertinent Resource are simply Article Types - and are each assigned the relevant Cohort Topic for easy filtering and grouping.
An individual resource is simply an Article Detail - in the chosen format and type - which displays essential references and resources related to each of the Cohort's Modules / Core Training Materials. Typically some sort of Guide - as in the above example.
The elegance of this is how quick and easy this sort of things is to deploy. Affino assisted with some framework design tweaks and basic setup - while it was all up super rapidly and very painlessly.
And of course the same methodology can be reused and pivoted in various ways. It's always great when Affino's many integral strengths are so visibly elegantly harnessed. Any Affino Client can do the same for themselves pretty much within a few days - where the main emphasis is really on the content creation. The site structure reorganisation and design tweaks required are really very minor indeed.
We of course wish Heritage Digital every success with their new Academy programme.
