The latest Affino SaaS Updates have seen a transformation in Affino’s media capabilities, with big improvements in managing media assets and presenting them to the audiences. The biggest steps forward are the launch of the new generation Podcasting and Video Libraries. These feature fully native video and audio players, and extensive support for YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia.
The other area to see the biggest advances is personalisation, with the introduction of the new My Interests where users can manage their interests and receive better personalised content, including alerts sent to them on their schedule. We have also introduced the new My Library, with the ability to favourite articles, products, videos and podcasts for later reading, buying, watching and listening.
There have been dozens of more subtle improvements, ranging from the transformed Media Listing Design Element, through to paying for awards on or after submission, enhanced live directories and the transformation of editions deliver searchable and downloadable edition archives.
Below are some of the key highlights.
The new Video Library offers an instantly familiar video experience, with a great deal of flexibility on how videos are listed, and a powerful video detail screen with up-next auto-generated playlists, social sharing, add to favourites, comments and ratings and the ability to showcase video sponsors.
Affino's new Podcast capabilities greatly extend Affino's existing native audio player, with a very flexible podcast listing and detail presentation engine. It has been crafted so that there is a whole range of presentation options depending on how far you want to go with showcasing each episode, promoting the sponsors, and showcasing the speakers. Each episode can be socially shared and promoted, commented on and liked, and the user is automatically guided to other episodes in the series.
Editions are transformed with the ability to create searchable digital archives. It is now possible to bulk import edition details, upload PDFs of each issue, upload a text transcript, and deploy a full archive.
It is possible to sell access to the archive on a subscription basis, ensuring that users don't download too many issues in any given day with daily download limits.
