A hearty congratulation to Cogora for winning our sponsored ’Business Publication of the Year’ category at this year’s PPA Independent Publisher’s Awards. Cogora’s Pulse was up against some very stiff competition - while we feel that on balance now was the right time for Pulse to take the honours - especially considering what health services have meant to us all over these last two years.
Congratulations to Tim Bano at The Stage for winning the ’Writer of the Year’ Category, The Stage also picked up ’Event of the Year’ for its ’Future of Theatre’ summit - the first event of its kind to bring the entire theatre sector together since the start of the pandemic.
The Stage’s sibling brand The Bookseller won ’Content Piece of the Year’ for its Black Issue - which was commended for diversity and inclusion.
And TTG was the recipient of the Special Recognition Award for "showing such incredible resilience, innovation and determination in the face of huge adversity for the travel industry during the pandemic."
Well done also to ’edie’ for getting a ’Highly Commended’ mention in our sponsored category. And congratulations also to Sophie Griffiths of TTG for getting a Highly Commended in the Editor of the Year category - which Pulse funnily enough also took home!
Commiserations to all who were shortlisted, including Affino in the ’Industry Partner of the Year’ category - we feel that Newsstand were worthy winners - the News Trade has obviously suffered considerably over these last couple of years too - and Newsstand has come up with a number of innovations over that period to help the news retail trade survive.
Overall another great PPA Independent Publisher Awards and Conference - fully live and in-person again.
We’re ever proud to participate and support this industry - congratulations once more to all the winners!
