TTG Media is once more exercising its travel industry leadership credentials by spearheading the #SAVETRAVEL Campaign - which is petitioning the UK Government to take a more structured approach to supporting and saving jobs in the Travel Industry.
Other areas of the Tourism and Hospitality Sector have benefited from considerable Support from Government Agencies - restaurants in particular in this most recent month. By contrast the Government is often unwittingly exacerbating the situation for Tour Operators by not providing enough structure or sufficient notice for Travel Agents to adjust to the changing situation.
The rapid removal of several Safe Travel Corridors recently - Spain, France and Netherlands included - gave neither agents nor travellers sufficient notice to be able to do anything fully constructive in response to those new almost instant restrictions.
The #SAVETRAVEL petition is targeted at Transport Secretary Grant Shapps and Chancellor Rishi Sunak - and seeks to get as many people as possible involved - by simply signing-up to the campaign courtesy of a very minimal - Affino Dynamic Form, then going on to petition their local MP’s.
This is not an altogether dissimilar exercise to TTG's exemplary Coronavirus Hub - yet on this occasion the engagement includes the public as well as all those that are being affected by the erratic changes in policy, and minimal notice periods.
